James aka The Rev in 2007 Japan

James Owen Sullivan, Better known as his stage name, The Reverend Tholomew Plague shortened to The Rev, was an American musician best known as the drummer and backing vocalist of A7x. Born on February 9, 1981, The Rev grew up with an older and younger sister and eventually became a pro drummer in his teens. He founded A7x alongside Zacky Vengeance, M Shadows and Matt Wendt in 1999 and they were swiftly joined by Jimmy's close friend, Synyster Gates, the guitarist and backing vocalist of The Rev's side project, Pinkly Smooth, where Jimmy was known as Rathead. A7x went through a few bassist changes, from Wendt, to Justin Sane, to Dameon Ash and lastly, current bassist and eventual backing vocalist, Johnny Christ. The Rev died on December 28, 2009 from an accidental drugs and alcohol overdose and had a funeral days later on January 6, 2010. His current replacement is Brooks Wackerman, who replaced Mike Portnoy and Arin Ilejay. The Rev has received many songs dedicated to him, such as So Far Away, Fiction and Victim etc.
