"I Won't Be Home for Christmas" is a holiday-themed song released by Blink-182. The song was originally on a one track radio promo in 1997. It was recorded with original drummer Scott Raynor. It was then released officially on the single for "Josie". It was also release in 2000 on a promo CD to record company executives in Europe.
The single charted at |number one in Canada but it did not chart anywhere else. It is the only Blink-182 single to ever be number one in Canada. "I Won't Be Home for Christmas" was also the longest running number one single in Canada for 2001. It was number one for five weeks in 2001 and for one week in 2002.
The song is one of two post-Enema of the State singles to be left out of their Greatest Hits album, however it is available as a bonus track on several import editions.
Meaning[]
The song tells of a man who is fed up with Christmas and the various events that accompany it. As a result, he attacks a troupe of Christmas carolers singing outside his house. The man ends up in jail and is violated by his cellmate, Bubba.

The song would later appear on various alternative Christmas albums including MTV: TRL Christmas, Kevin and Bean: Santa's Swingin' Sack, A Santa Cause: It's a Punk Rock Christmas, and Skankin' Up Xmas, and was released as a single in 2002. It was also featured in the 1998 film I'll Be Home for Christmas and the trailer for Eight Crazy Nights.
